Beatrice Will Host State Baseball and Softball Tournaments

BEATRICE – 58-teams competed in the Beatrice Bullets Little League Baseball Tournaments the past two weekends at the Scott Street Baseball Complex.

Beatrice will be hosting State Baseball and Softball Tournaments next weekend that is expected to bring in over 70-teams from across Nebraska to participate at the Scott Street Baseball Complex and the Hannibal Park Softball Fields.

Beatrice Bullets Tournament Director, Tim Fralin, says 38-teams will compete in the nine-and-under USSSA State Baseball Tournament.

Beatrice Lady Orange Softball Coach, Gary Lytle, expects 35-teams will be in town next weekend for the 16-and-under, 12-and-under and ten-and-under USSSA Class-A State Softball Tournaments.

Fralin says recent improvements and expansions of the Scott Street Complex and Hannibal Park Softball Fields have allowed Beatrice to host bigger tournaments the last several summers.

Fralin adds that hosting baseball and softball state tournaments is a big economic boost, bringing in revenue for the community.

The state tournaments in Beatrice will run from Friday, June 22nd through Sunday, June 24th.
