Bennington Sweeps Nebraska City in Pioneers’ Season Opener

BENNINGTON, Neb. – The Bennington basketball teams swept Nebraska City in the Pioneers’ season opener Friday night at Bennington High School.

In the girl’s game, the Badgers pulled away for a 41-29 win. Bennington had two players with 9 points apiece, Whitney Wullenwaber and Madelyn Turner.

Nebraska City’s Snezhana Serafimoska led all scorers with 13 points.

Bennington improves to 1-1 on the season, while the Pioneers start 0-1.

Meanwhile, in the boys game, the Badgers went on a 9-0 run to start the game and never looked back in a 78-31 win. Karson Gansebom scored 7 of the first 9 points in the game and ended with 31 total. Joining Gansebom in double figures was Cooper Prososki. He finished with 12 points.

Bryce Levy led the Pioneers with 9 points.

Bennington is now 1-1 and Nebraska City starts 0-1.
