Boone Central/Newman Grove holds off Battle Creek in Mid-State semis

NORFOLK – Boone Central/Newman Grove hit big shots down the stretch, holding off an upset-minded Battle Creek team 58-55 in the Mid-State Semi-finals Friday.

It was the second time in as many weeks that the Cardinals and Braves played in a one-possession game. Battle Creek beat BC/NG 73-72 last Friday.

The Cardinals will face Pierce in the title game. Boone Central/Newman Grove topped the Blue Jays 44-35 back on December 7th.
