Crete Headed to Semifinals After One Run Victory Over Seward
The Crete softball team had a strong following in Hastings on Wednesday.

HASKINS – The #7 Seed is headed to the Class B State Semifinals.

Crete was able to score a run in the top half of the seventh inning to get a 6-5 victory.

Camry Moore struck out 10 on the mound, while getting hitting a home run at the plate. Elizabeth Eltze recorded to hits and scored the winning run in the seventh.

The Bluejays were led by Janessa Brase’s three hits.

The Cardinals move on to the state semifinals, where they’ll see #5 Gretna. The Dragons defeated McCook, 18-9, despite trailing 9-7 entering the bottom of the fifth. That game will be played at 7 p.m. Thursday night.

Seward will play the winner of #1 Elkhorn South and #4 Wayne at 2 p.m.
