Lourdes charter bus gets stuck in snow
Thursday morning didn’t start well for the Lourdes Central Catholic boys basketball teams and it didn’t get better in their quarterfinal loss to Elm Creek at Lincoln East High School.
The charter bus the team was supposed to take to their fourth consecutive state appearance got high-centered on a snow drift in Nebraska City around 6 a.m. A quick moving storm dropped three to five inches of snow in Otoe County and forced fans making the trip to Lincoln to use extreme caution when driving on Highway 2, where several spin-outs were reported.
Head Coach Joe Tynon drove the team on a yellow school bus and the team arrived at 7:35 a.m. for their 9 a.m. tip-off.
The band and cheerleaders were able to utilize the charter bus.
