Norfolk hands #10 PLV South fifth loss in six games

NORFOLK – Norfolk’s ability to handle the ball and shoot free throws makes them a team very comfortable with a lead heading into the fourth quarter.

It was no surprise, then, to see the Panthers’ 36-33 lead heading into the 4th swell into a 55-46 win over Papillion-La Vista South.

The Panthers scored 19 points in the 4th quarter despite making just two field goals. They were 14-of-18 from the free throw line in the final quarter, led by junior Tyson Stelling’s 8-of-10 performance from the charity stripe in the final minutes.

Norfolk also out-rebounded the much taller Titan team 27-23.

The loss was Papillion-La Vista’s fifth in their last six games, dropping them back to .500 after an 8-4 start to the season.
