Riverside Uses Big 2nd Half to Beat CWC for District Championship



ORD, NE — The Riverside Chargers outscored Chambers/Wheeler Central by 14 points in the second half to win the District Championship 63-53 on Tuesday night.

The Renegades (15-10) started the game strong and led by three points after one quarter.  Logan Pelster hit three three-pointers and Ethan Naughtin added 10 points in the first half to help CWC to a 32-28 lead at halftime.

Riverside (22-3) regained a one-point lead entering the fourth quarter before taking control.  Tredyn Prososki scored 10 points in the second half and Michael Bernt made seven free throws to secure the 10-point win.

Prososki led the Chargers with 17 points in the game while Riley Swerczek made four three-pointers to contribute 16 points.  Joe Bloom scored 10 points while battling foul trouble in the second half.

CWC was paced by Ethan Naughtin’s 19 points and seven rebounds.  Dan Libolt added 15 points and Logan Pelster finished with nine in the Renegades’ final game of the year.

The Chargers (23-2) have won 11 straight games and will be the #2 seed in the state tournament next weekend.  Riverside is projected to play #7 seed Wynot (14-9) in the opening round on Thursday, March 8th.
