SYRACUSE – Syracuse boys basketball coach Mark Hrabik is shifting his team’s focus to defense after a 65-62 loss to Auburn on Tuesday night.
Hrabik says they need to get a little bit more defined on defense and become more tough and more resistant. The Rockets offense did a good job countering the Bulldogs resistance, but Hrabik doesn’t think they did a good job returning the favor.
“They (Auburn) got a lot of things around the basket that I think we need to be able to shut down. Things like dribble penetration, which are things that have kind of hurt us at different times in the year. These are all areas that we need to fix and we’re going to try to spend the next couple weeks trying to fix those.”
Syracuse got into foul trouble by letting Auburn catch the ball inside and then having to try and defend their attack, according to Hrabik.
