AUBURN – The No. 6 Auburn boys basketball team is starting to see their experience and offseason work show in games.

The Bulldogs, who are currently 11-1 this season, are looking to make the state tournament for the first time since 1985. They’ve qualified 23 times in school history.

Head Coach Jim Weeks says the success of the team has been building depth and getting guys experience over the last few seasons.

“We’ve got a bunch of young kids that are great. They want to be really, good and they spent a lot of time. When you think about our success, it hasn’t just happened once the season starts. These guys have worked on it two or three years and starting to see the truth of your labor.”

Auburn hosts Fairbury at 6:15 p.m. Friday night at Auburn High School. The girls game will tip at 4:30 p.m. Both games will be available on Today’s Best Country, B103 (103.1 FM,
