Auburn Stays Alive in Junior Legion Baseball Area Tournament on Lavigne’s 4-RBI Day

AUBURN – The Falls City Junior Legion Baseball team watched their game with Auburn slip away early and see their season come to an end Sunday. The Blue Storm lost in five innings, 17-1, in the consolation bracket of the Area B1 Tournament.

Singles by Brandon Lavigne and Josh Lambert, and a home run from Hayden Hall fired up Auburn’s offense in the first inning. Lavigne, Lambert, Ryne Flynn, Tye Ommert and Kyson Warner each had multiple hits. Auburn finished with a team total of 14.

Lambert surrendered just one run on three hits and two strikeouts in the complete game win.

Kade Bredemeier led Falls City with two hits in three at bats.

Auburn plays Syracuse tonight (Monday) at 5:30 in another elimination game at Tushla Field. Syracuse lost to Hickman on Sunday, 16-0.

Falls City finishes the season at 10-10.
