Boys basketball teams learn postseason paths with release of sub-district brackets

LINCOLN – Lourdes Central Catholic will begin their pursuit for a third-straight Class D1 state championship next week when boys basketball sub-district tournaments open.

The Knights, competing in the Class D1-3 sub-district after playing in D1-1 the last two seasons, are the #1 seed and will play Monday’s (Feb. 19) winner between Weeping Water and Cedar Bluffs on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at Raymond Central High School. Omaha Christian Academy and East Butler will meet in the other semi-final.

Other top seeds include Auburn (Class C1-1), Syracuse (Class C1-2), Elmwood-Murdock (Class C2-2), Johnson-Brock (Class D1-1) and Falls City Sacred Heart (Class D2-1). Each top seed will play in the semi-finals of their respective sub-districts on Tuesday. Finals will be held on Feb. 22.
