Cedar Catholic Impressive in Sweep of Crofton

HARTINGTON – Hartington Cedar Catholic made quick work of Mid State Conference rival Crofton on Tuesday.

The Trojans swept the Warriors 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-15) in the first dual match-up for both teams in the 2018 season.

Cedar Catholic used a balanced attack at the net, with three players finishing with at least 7 kills, led by senior Maddie Wieseler’s 12 kills.

Jada Cattau and Tori Arens added seven kills apiece for Cedar Catholic, while Crofton was led by Ryah Ostermeyer’s six kills.

Cedar Catholic has now defeated Crofton in three straight matches for the first time since taking five in a row from the Warriors between 2008 and 2012.

The 6-2 Trojans have a week off before hosting Norfolk Catholic next Tuesday. The 1-2 Warriors host O’Neill on Thursday.
