Clark breaks career kills record, Syracuse to play for conference title

SYRACUSE – Senior Meredith Clark broke the school record for career kills and the Syracuse volleyball team, ranked No. 6 in the latest World-Herald News Service rankings, won a five-set thriller over Douglas County West Thursday night in the semi-finals of the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament, 18-25, 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 15-5 (3-2).

Clark claims the top spot over Jordan Lechner, who held the record since she graduated in 2009.

The second-seed Rockets (20-1) will play top-seed Wahoo on Saturday for the conference championship. First serve at DC West High School is at 2:15.

The Falcons (16-5) and Platteview meet in the third-place match prior to the title match.
