Cross County Girls Stifle Osceola in Big Win

STROMSBURG, NE — The Cross County Cougars girls basketball team allowed just one point in the first quarter and cruised to a 44-17 win over Osceola on Tuesday night.

Freshman Maddie Portwine scored 14 points while Savannah Anderson and Cortlyn Schaefer each added seven to lead the Cougars’ (3-5) charge. Head Coach Mitch Boshart dialed up a full-court press that swarmed the Bulldogs in the first half. Osceola (0-7) scored just eight points on two field goals in the first half.

Ginni Johansen led the way for Osceola with 12 points while Samantha Hays collected seven rebounds.
