INTERVIEW: Neligh-Oakdale Girls Coach Tanner Knutson

NELIGH, NE — The Neligh-Oakdale Lady Warriors withstood multiple rallies from the Plainview Pirates to earn a 46-42 win on Friday night.

Neligh-Oakdale (3-7) earned its third win of the season, eclipsing their win total from last year.  Plainview (3-7) lost its fourth straight game but nearly scored as many points as the team had in the previous three games combined.

The Lady Warriors opened as the aggressors.  They built a 10-4 lead by the end of the first quarter thanks to pressure defense.

The Pirates found their stroke from deep in the second quarter.  They made four three-pointers in the quarter to make it a four-point game at half.

Plainview continued to connect from three-point range in the second half and took the lead in the fourth quarter.  But, the Lady Warriors closed the game strong and made enough free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
