NELIGH — The Osmond Tigers trailed just once and overpowered Neligh-Oakdale 52-36 on Tuesday night.
Osmond (10-1) owned a 27-14 lead at halftime and stretched it to as much as 25 points in the second half before cruising down the stretch to the 16-point win.
The Tigers were led by standout sophomore Keaton Timmerman who scored 19 points and hauled in 10 rebounds. Senior Alex Kumm had a tough game and finished with four points but contributed with five boards. Nick Reikofski came off the bench to chip in seven points for Todd Schulze’s team.
Austin Rice paced the Warriors (7-5) with eight points and eight rebounds. Hunter Charf and Julien Hearn each had seven in the defeat. Osmond was able to hold leading scorer Cole Belitz without a field goal and to just four points on the game.
The Tigers have won three straight games and host Hartington-Newcastle next on January 12th. Neligh-Oakdale’s next game is against Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on January 11th.
