Johnson-Brock soars past Pawnee City, sets up district showdown with Meridian

PAWNEE CITY – The Johnson-Brock football team had six different rushers score touchdowns and the Class D2 No. 3 Eagles defeated Pawnee City, 66-0, on Friday.

Senior Dylan Rowe scored twice on seven carries for 53 yards. Kaden Glynn, Caleb Fossenbarger, Connor Smith, Cole Fossenbarger and Hunter Oestmann each added a score.

Cole Fossenbarger was 3-5 through the air for 69 yards and threw two touchdowns to Ty Hahn.

“Our offense was able to capitalize on great field position again this week and we ran the ball really well,” Johnson-Brock Head Coach Mitch Roberts said. “Our special teams did a great job on returns and our defense was physical and played the run well.”

Johnson-Brock’s defense gave up only 42 total yards to the Indians. Ty Hahn led the team in tackles with eight. Rowe and Shane Westhart each had a sack.

The Eagles improve to 6-0 and will travel to Meridian (5-1) on Friday. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. and the game will air on Otoe County Country (KNCY 1600 AM, 105.5 FM, ncn21.com and ncnsportsnow.com).

Pawnee City is 0-6 and goes to Falls City on Friday to play No. 2 Sacred Heart.
