EAGLE – District golf is in the books, and more area athletes have punched their ticket to state.

In Class C at the Woodland Hills Golf Course in Eagle, Johnson County Central finished as district runners-up Tuesday to qualify for state as a team.

Eli Waring (2nd overall, 79), Tyler Bartels (4th, 83) and Kole Kleespies (t-10th, 91) all placed inside the top 10.

Elsewhere in this meet, five more area golfers also placed inside the top ten to qualify for state.

Cole Toovey of Milford placed sixth with a score of 88. Jackson Fuelner of Thayer Central was right behind in 7th with an 89. In ninth place, Milford’s Bragan Meyer shot a 90 to qualify for state. Finally, William Stanosheck of Southern and Koby Head of Fillmore Central tied for 10th with a score of 91 to qualify for state.

State golf is held May 21-22. Class B will compete in Columbus, Class C is in Kearney and Class D will go to North Platte.
