Kenesaw Stays Unbeaten With Semi-Final Win Over Heartland

LINCOLN – The state’s longest winning streak continues.

Kenesaw improved to 28-0 with a 47-39 win over Heartland on Friday in the Class D1 semi-finals.

Heartland was able to slow the game down and hit shots early to take a 12-10 lead after the first quarter.

But a 7-0 run by the Blue Devils in the second quarter started a run where they outscored the Huskies 26-13 over the 2nd and 3rd quarters, allowing them to pull away.

With the win, Kenesaw advances to their first state championship game in 98 years. They’ll face two-time defending champ Lourdes Central Catholic.
