Legion Baseball roundup: Auburn suffers first setback; Syracuse, Plattsmouth cruise to wins

Springfield 10, Auburn 7: Hunter Babe went 2-3, with a double, two RBI’s and two runs scored. Caden Mathewson also went 2-3 for Springfield. He added two RBI’s and a run scored. Drew Dixon, John Kinnaman and Brody Darnell each had two hits for Auburn. Dixon and Darnell each had doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Auburn (9-1) suffers their first loss this season and will play in the Hebron Wood Bat Tournament this weekend. Meanwhile, Springfield will play their next conference game on Tuesday vs. Elmwood-Murdock-Nehawka.

Syracuse 7, Tecumseh 0: Christian Frederick drove-in three runs and Syracuse improved their record to 9-5. Frederick finished 2-2 with a double, three RBI’s and two runs scored. He also struck out three on the mound. Izaak Prater added a pair of hits, including a double. Syracuse is at Adams on Thursday.

Plattsmouth 18, Lincoln Christian 3: Josh Aho smacked his second grand slam of 2018 and scored three times. Nathon Konkler drove-in four runs and scored once. He also tripled in the game. Connor Pohlmeier scored three times. Aho’s home run and Konkler’s triple were Plattsmouth’s only extra base hits.
