NELIGH— The Osmond Lady Tigers overcame a five-point deficit in the second half to topple Neligh-Oakdale 69-57 on Tuesday night.
The first half belonged to Trinity Kurpgeweit and Caitlin Kumm. Kurpgeweit scored 17 of her 25 points in the first two quarters to lead the way for the Warriors (1-12) while Kumm tallied 18 first-half points on the way to a game-high 29 for the Tigers (7-4).
Neligh-Oakdale expanded their one-point edge at halftime to a five-point lead after a hot start to the third quarter. But then, Osmond went on a tear led by Makenzie Johnson and Kumm to take a six-point advantage to the fourth quarter. They held off the Warriors in the final period to earn the 12-point victory.
Bailey Frey chipped in 10 points for Neligh-Oakdale while Haley Kerkman added seven points and seven rebounds.
Andrea Schmit contributed 12 points and Johnson scored 10 for Osmond.
