Plattsmouth Coaches Looking for Constant Improvement After First Win

PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. – The Plattsmouth football team took the final drive of the game down the field against Omaha Gross and punched the ball into the endzone for their first win of the season last Friday, 19-14.

The Blue Devils finished with 172 yards passing and 113 yards rushing to improve to 1-6 overall and 1-0 in the B1 district.

Head Coach Bob Dzuris and his staff want to see constant improvement during the final two weeks of the season.

“We’ve asked the kids to just maintain a positive attitude and keep working hard. It helps when the coaches do that as well. You get to this point in the year you just try not to beat the kids up, but at the same time you preach being physical, you preach doing things correctly, and hopefully you learn a lot of lifelong lessons along the way.”

The Blue Devils are battling injuries during the final third of the season. Plattsmouth will start three to four sophomores on defense and three sophomores on offense when they kickoff against their Highway 75 rivals Nebraska City on Friday night.
