Playing in their final home game Friday, Rockets want to go-out with a “bang”

SYRACUSE – Jenna Siefken, Payton Beckmann, Jaysa Zoller, Kayla Arnold, Livia Wilhelm and Emma Bjork will play their final home games of their Syracuse basketball careers on Friday when the Rockets host Conestoga (16-5) at Syracuse High School.

The Syracuse girls basketball team is coming off a 57-43 loss to #7 Auburn on Tuesday, a game in-which they felt confident about after nearly upsetting Class B #2 Platteview at home last Friday.

Head coach Andrew Pryor says they have done a good job coming out and attacking early when they play at Syracuse High School, and the girls want to go out with a “bang” during their final home game of the season.

“Conestoga team coming in is a comparable opponent to Auburn in the sense that it’s going to take a team effort from our girls in working together, sound defense, communication, rebounding and just the hard work ethic. All those things are going to have to happen Friday if we want to come away with the win.”

The Cougars defeated Ashland-Greenwood on Tuesday, 65-38.

Syracuse and Conestoga are scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m. Friday. Coverage will be heard on B103 (103.1 FM,
