Westside’s Ella Wedergren Earns Player of the Game Options

NORFOLK – Omaha Westside has aspirations of repeating as state champs in girls basketball.

If they’re going to do that, they’ll need senior Ella Wedergren to play like she did on Saturday.

Wedergren set the tone early on with eight points in the first quarter, finishing with a game-high 17 as Westside beat Norfolk 54-43.

Wedergren led the Warriors in assists in the 2017-18 season, but now with Westside trying to replace the scoring of Quinn Weidemann, Wedergren has stepped up as more of a scoring option, averaging 14.5 points per game in the early going.
