Bobcats Drop a pair of softball games at Grand View

DES MOINES – The Grand View Viking softball team took a second-straight double header win over Peru State in Des Moines on Thursday.

The Bobcats were able to get on the scoreboard this time after being blanked on Tuesday. Grand View took the first game 10-1 in five innings while the second game was much more competitive 4-2.

Grand View is now 26-4 overall and 16-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) North Division. The ‘Cats fell to 9-27 on the year and are now 4-18 in conference play.

Mother Nature continues to mess with all of the spring sports. Peru State was to play a pair of double headers at home, but instead will be on the road for both this weekend due to the impending weather.

The Bobcats will be in Baldwin City, Kan., on Friday to take on the 25th-ranked Baker Wildcats in a double header beginning at 3 p.m. The Wildcats are 26-7 on the year and are 15-5 in the Heart South.

On Sunday, Peru State will be in Atchison, Kan., to face Benedictine in a double header starting at 2 p.m. The Ravens are 19-13 overall and are 9-11 in the Heart South.
