Central Methodist Wins 17-9 Slugfest over Peru State

PERU – The visiting Central Methodist Eagles took a 17-9 win in the first game at Peru State on Friday in a slugfest. Mother Nature was the winner in the second game as lightning and a downpour forced the cancellation of the final game of the double header. The second game will not be made up per conference rules.

CMU, the 24th-ranked team in the NAIA, extended their winning streak to seven games and are now 29-8 overall and 17-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) South Division. Peru State fell to 22-13 on the year and are 13-10 in the Heart North.

Peru State will be traveling to Sterling, Kan., Tuesday to face Sterling in a double header beginning at 1 p.m. The Warriors of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference are 14-25 on the season.
