Coaches pick Peru State to finish fourth in North Division

OLATHE, Kan. – Heart of America Athletic Conference coaches picked the Peru State football team to finish fourth in the North Division during the conference’s media day on Monday in Olathe, Kan.

Grand View, the three-time defending division champions, was selected to finish at the top of the division. Defending co-champion Benedictine followed in second, then William Penn, the Bobcats, Culver-Stockton and Graceland.

Coaches voted Baker to win the South Division. Missouri Valley, Evangel, MidAmerica Nazarene and Central Methodist round out the division.

Heart members will play non-conference games for the first time since 2014. The season kicks off when Evangel hosts SAGU (Texas) on Aug. 23 at 6 p.m.

Peru State will begin the season at Hastings on Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. The game will air live on B103 (103.1 FM, b103.fm). They open camp on Monday.
