Garlobo and Thomason Among All-District Honorees

PERU – The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.

Peru State baseball players Gianfranco Garlobo (Carolina, Puerto Rico) and Seth Thomason (Holt, Fla.) were named to College Division District Three Team.

A senior accounting and marketing major, Garlobo was an outfielder for the Bobcats. He had a 3.8 grade point average at the time of the nomination. In addition to his statistics for Peru State, the following information was submitted for Garlobo:

The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.

The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams.

Whipple Named to Google Cloud All-District Team

PERU – The 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America® teams announced in June.

Peru State women’s golfer Emily Whipple (Lincoln) was one of ten female student-athletes named to the All-District® Three Women’s At-Large Team. Whipple, a senior academically and a junior eligibility-wise, has a perfect grade point average in middle level education. She was the only student-athlete from the Heart of America Athletic Conference to have made an all-district at-large team. In addition, she is just one of three from Nebraska at all levels.
