Ludwig, Peru State host offensive skills camp

PERU – The Peru State men’s basketball program recently hosted an offensive skills camp for boys in grades third through twelve. Bobcat head coach Bob Ludwig conducted the camp with assistance from coaching assistant Mark Ritchie.

Twenty-five area youth attended the four-day camp which featured instruction on offensive basketball skills.

The camp ran for three hours each morning with campers being trained on proper techniques, learned new drills, and also participated in some team activities.

Those participating included Colby Robinson (Pawnee City), Wes Swanson (Auburn), Kayden Badertscher (Tecumseh), Alex Cruz Kirkland (Tecumseh), Kyler Cruz Kirkland (Tecumseh), Easton Hall (Schuyler), Aaron Langemeier (Schuyler), Deacon Bernadt (Steinauer), Marcus Buitrago-Hudson (Auburn), Tyler Parriott (Peru), Nic Parriott (Peru), Ben Parriott (Peru), Gavin Parriott (Peru), Lucas Nielsen (Nebraska City), Jalen Behrends (Auburn), Cole Robeson (Tecumseh), Hunter Murphy (Peru), Ethan Graves (Nebraska City), Jayden Borns (Nebraska City), Carter Stancil (Bennington), Noah Willey (Schuyler), Brayan Palmer (Auburn), Blake Swanson (Auburn), Eli Albury (Peru), and Chris Melvin (Peru).

During the camp, various contests were conducted. The respective winners were: One on One Champs – Alex Cruz Kirkland, Jalen Behrends, and Noah Willey; Free Throw Champs – Deacon Bernadt, Lucas Nielsen, and Marcus Buitrago-Hudson; and Mr. Hustle – Jayden Borns.

Ludwig concluded the camp with encouragement to each of the campers to continue their work over the summer and fall prior to the upcoming basketball season.
