PERU – With three blocks against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) Saturday afternoon, senior forward Lyle Hexom (Omaha) became the single season blocks record holder for Peru State men’s basketball.
Now with 61 blocks on the year, Hexom moved ahead of Kris Frazier who had 60 blocks set during the 2015-16 campaign.
Earlier in the season, Hexom became the top in single game blocks as he swatted eight in the win over Valley City State (N.D.). He topped three others who had blocked six shots each in one game.
Hexom, in just one and one-half seasons, has a total of 94 career blocks. He trails Andre Wells who played three season for the Bobcats and finished his career with 97 blocked shots.
Peru State will be playing three games this week. The Bobcats will face MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) Monday night before hosting Missouri Valley Wednesday night and Mount Mercy (Iowa) on Saturday.
