NEBRASKA CITY – While it was warmer, the winds were blowing and the smoke was coming from Kansas, and it hampered the efforts of all of the participants in the Peru State Women’s Golf Tournament.
Morningside (Iowa) College won the five-team tournament with a score of 342. Waldorf (Iowa) finished second with a 347 while the College of St. Mary was third with a 359. Des Moines Area Community College was fourth with a 367 while the hosts finished fifth with a 372 total. North Central Missouri also participated but did not field a complete team.
Samantha Knight of Morningside was the medalist as she finished with an eight-over-par 79. Allysa Anderson of College of St. Mary was second with an 81.
Taylor Finke (Battle Creek) led Peru State as she tied for 12th with a 91. Hannah Baldacci (Norfolk) was 14th with a 92 while Charleen Marsh (Bellevue) was 15th with a 93.
Vivian Brown (Wichita, Kan.) was 19th for the Bobcats with a 96 while Cathleen Marsh (Bellevue) was tied for 21st with a 98. Emily Whipple (Lincoln) finished 26th with a 103.
Peru State is competing in the Kaitlyn Ericson/Doane University Invite on Thursday at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln.
