PERU – The 2018 edition of the Peru State women’s cross country season came to an end on Saturday as the Bobcats competed in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) Championship in Atchison, Kan. The meet was hosted by Benedictine at the Bellevue Country Club.
MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) won the Heart championship with a team score of 48, easily ahead of second place Mount Mercy (Iowa) which finished with 66 points. Baker (Kan.) was third with 77 while the hosts finished fourth with 88 total points. Peru State finished last in 12th place.
Junior Julia Zurek (Louisville) was Peru State’s top runner – a position she held in every meet in which she ran this season. Zurek finished 57th out of 108 runners in a time of 23:21.44.
