LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Bobcat softball team jumped out to early leads in both games of a double header against Haskell Indian Nations University on Sunday. In doing so, the ‘Cats cruised to a pair of wins over the Fighting Indians in Lawrence, Kan.
Peru State took the first game 12-2 and then came back to win 11-3 in the second game. Both games ended after the fifth inning as the mercy rule was invoked.
With the two wins, the Bobcats improved to 4-8 on the season. Haskell fell to 4-7. This was a non-conference double header.
On Thursday, Peru State will be hosting Ottawa (Kan.) for a double header beginning at 2 p.m. The Braves, who were pre-season ranked 13th, have started the season with a 14-6 mark. Ottawa has dropped their last three games.
