PERU – For the second year in a row, the Peru State men’s basketball team will be in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) Postseason Championship.
The #24 Bobcats will be in Atchison, Kansas, tonight to face the NAIA DI’s top-ranked team – the Benedictine Ravens at 7 p.m. The action will take place in the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium on the Benedictine campus.
General admission price is $8 with student under 17 $5. The gates are to open at 6 p.m.

Peru State dropped a pair of contests to the Ravens during the regular season. Benedictine topped Peru State in Peru on January 10 by a score of 67-63 as they scored the last five points to capture the win. The ‘Cats led in Atchison on February 20 with a little over six minutes to go in the game before the Ravens eventually won 70-64.
Benedictine is presently 30-2 on the year having won 29 games in a row with the largest margin of victory in their last six contests was the six-point win over the Bobcats. The Bobcats are 22-10 overall having won their last four games.
Both teams have qualified for the upcoming NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship which will be held at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. The tournament will run March 20-26.
The Peru State Foundation, along with Student Activities, will be hosting a “Watch Party” for the Men’s Division I Basketball Bracket Reveal on Wednesday. The event will be held in the College’s Student Center Dining Hall. A short program will begin around 4:30 p.m. with the bracket reveal taking place at 5 p.m. All Bobcat fans in the area are invited to join the basketball team in the Student Center for the reveal celebration.
