DAVID CITY – It was business as usual for the Centennial Broncos on Thursday night, as they defeated the David City Scouts 41-7 to remain undefeated on the season.
It was a bit of a sluggish start for the high-powered Broncos offense, who only lead 7-0 after the first quarter. David City was able to put a touchdown on the board in the second quarter and were down 14-7 at their closest point, but the Broncos proved too much for the Scouts, as they were able to score 27 unanswered points for the win.
Centennial quarterback Wyatt Ehlers threw four touchdown passes to wide receiver Jackson Hirschfeld, and ran for a score as well. Max Tomes added a rushing touchdown, and the Broncos were firing on all cylinders as they prepare to make a playoff push.
The win improved the Broncos to 8-0 overall, and wrapped up a District 4 championship in Class C2 with a 4-0 record. Centennial still has one game left on the schedule, as they are back on the road next Friday against Twin River.
David City fell to 4-4 overall with the loss, and are now 2-2 in district play. The Scouts will be on the road next week for their final game of the year against North Bend Central.
