KEARNEY – It was business as usual for the University of Nebraska Kearney volleyball team on Saturday afternoon, as the Lopers defeated the Minot State Beavers 3-0 for their third victory in the 2018 UNK Fall Classic.
The Lopers have now won all three of their matches in this year’s classic by a score of 3-0. The victory also marks the 58th consecutive victory at home for head coach Rick Squiers and his team.
The Lopers earned a 25-15 victory in the first and second sets, and closed out the third and final set with a score of 25-11. The victory improved the Lopers to 7-0 on the season, while the Beavers fell to 4-3.
MK Wolfe lead UNK with 10 kills in 18 total attacks, with Julianne Jackson, Mackenzie Puckett, and Kendal Schroer each adding 6 kills to the Lopers 42 on the day. Ellie McDonnell lead the team defensively with 21 digs, while Jackson added 13.
The Lopers play one more match in the UNK Fall Classic against Newman University before heading to the California Vulcan Invitational in California, PA next weekend.
