Vikings Sweep Dukes; Improve To 3-2 On Season

YORK – It wasn’t easy, but the Lakeview Lady Vikings were able to defeat the York Lady Dukes in three straight sets in their match on Tuesday evening.

Lakeview took the sets by scores of 25-12, 25-21, and 25-12 to improve to 3-2 on the season. With the loss, the Dukes fell to 0-3 in 2018.

The Lady Vikings were able to claim the first set victory with relative, ease, but after jumping out to another early lead in the second set, the Lady Dukes came firing back to tie things up at 6. From there, the second set was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, with Lakeview capitalizing on some York miscues late in the set to earn the tough 25-21 set win.

From there, Lakeview was able to wrap things up in the third and ultimately final set, finishing off the Lady Dukes 25-12. Lakeview will next be in action this weekend at the Boone Tournament, while York will face both Ralston and Bishop Neumann in the Ralston Triangular on Thursday.
