COLUMBUS – A young batch of area talent continue to show their strength on the links for the Central Community College Raiders.
The Raiders took on York College, and Southwest Iowa College in tight match that was separated by 7 strokes, in team scores. The York Panthers took 1st with a score of 312, while Southwest finished with a 314, and CCC carded a 319.
Head coach Joe Blackwell says they were lead by Freshmen Colten Remm, of Lakeview, and Nate Grossnicklaus, of Shelby-Rising City, who shot 78 and 79 respectively.
Raiders Coach Blackwell says,” The team members lost focus a few times during the event which caused them to make a few poor shot selections and bad shot execution. However, it’s still early in the season and the team is working hard to improve on scoring and consistency.”
The next scheduled event is September 12th at 1:00 p.m. The Raiders will host the Doane Tigers J.V. and Southeast Community College.
